AIMEE
Aimee
Aimee is tiny 26 pound flat coat BC, 18 to 24 months old.  She was a stray that came into rescue in need of immediate medical intervention.  Apparently she had been the a victim of being hit by a car and was not taken to a vet for medical help.  It was also apparent that she had, had a recent litter of puppies.  At first we thought that she was a candidate for FHO surgery for her hip, but the x-rays showed that that she had an old injury to her tibia that healed on its own.  The Vet felt that It affected her growth plate which made her leg grow a bit shorter and that FHO surgery to the hip would not correct her problem.  The Vet did not recommend amputation either as she is using the limb, and her foster parents are committed to strengthen the muscles on her hip and leg.  She now uses all 4 legs about 85% to 95% of the time.

She is great with other dogs, kids and people in general.  She has the typical BC prey drive, so is not good with small animals, snd it's not recommended that she be placed in a home with cats.  Her new family should be fairly active and committed to keeping her busy and strong.  She loves play time and her toys that she sneaks out of the toy basket and piles on her bed.  She is crate trained, and will put herself to bed in her crate.  She is doing better on a leash, is house trained but it is recommended that she is put in basic training classes.  She is your typical smart BC and wants to please her people.  Aimee has a very sweet, shy personality; she does not do well with harsh or loud voices, and responds better to soft correction.  Once you meet and spend time with this sweet little girl you can't help but love her and want her future to be safe and filled with the love she so deserves.  She makes her foster parents laugh at her silliness and their hearts melt with her cuddles every day.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application.  We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.  The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
