BABY GIRL
Baby Girl
BG "Baby Girl" is a stunning and loving senior gal who is looking for her special home.  Shelter paperwork listed her as 13 yrs old, however, on her relinquishment paperwork to the shelter, her former owner listed her between 10-13 years old.  It is our opinion that she is approximately 10 years young.  BG is a traditional black and white semi rough coated beauty.

If ever a dog deserved a home in which to be pampered for the rest of her golden years, then BG heads our list of seniors.  This poor dog was dumped at a high kill IE shelter by her owner because she was too much trouble to take care of and could no longer be bothered.  It is apparent that BG had been neglected for a very long time.  Shelter personnel loved her sweet demeanor, and many good people advocated on her behalf.  BCIN was alerted on her last day before she was euthanized.  Our volunteers could not believe the condition of her fur, which was heavily matted with feces, rose branches and soaked with urine.  She was scared and had to be coaxed out of the kennel.  There was no hesitation about taking BG into our rescue program, as how could we resist her?  You can view her shelter video at http://youtu.be/8GSrYv8TnHE.

Take a look at this gorgeous dog now.  Her coat glistens and she has warm, gentle eyes that are now full of sparkle.  She was initially groomed on site at the shelter by a mobile groomer and was given a "freedom" hamburger by our volunteers.  BG is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet.  Nothing fazes this ole gal.  She is easy going, well socialized with other dogs, housebroken, walks well on a leash.  She quite talkative and will greet you with "woo-woo's".  However, BG is a special needs dog, not because of being a senior, she is somewhat deaf.  We are not sure how much she can hear, or if she is just feeling vibrations.  She can be taught simple hand signals for obedience.

Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior.  BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BCs, as it is fact that adoption rates in the shelter are reduced significantly once a dog reaches 5 years of age.  BCIN was BG's only hope of making it out of the shelter and we gladly welcomed her into our rescue program.  BG will be adopted under our senior program.  This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that she can find a loving home where she spend the rest of her golden years.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application.  We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.  The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
