BAILEY
Bailey
Bailey is a lovely 3-4 year-old traditionally-marked black & white purebred female.  She has an adorable face, with beautiful markings and her semi-rough coat is very silky.  She is on the small side, weighing in at around 34 lbs.

As shown by the photos below, Bailey came to us very shut down from her shelter experience.  It took her a full 7 days to come out of it, but she is learning to trust again and wants to forge a bond.  She was skittish (to noises) in her foster home for the first four weeks, but is now completely relaxed and very content.

Bailey follows voice commands very well and, while she will follow you constantly, she is not needy.  She is somewhat of a one-person dog (she bonds very strongly and thinks her master is the best person in the whole world), but only in a sense that she will always go to that person first and most often. Bonding with other humans will happen, just not right away.

She doesn't really play with the other dogs, but many of the purebred BCs don't. However, being part of a pack is important to her and she would not make a good only dog unless her new owner works part-time or is retired. When she is with her pack, she is super quiet and only barks when you get home from work - as she's very happy to see you.

With very nice house manners, she has had no accidents or signs of chewing.  She's good with my parrot, but VERY intrigued with my chinchilla chinchilla (stares at him for hours), but fine with cats.   She doesn't yet play with the other dogs but, with time, may join in on play - some purebreds don't.  The best thing about Bailey is how lovely she walks on leash - like walking a butterfly - as she keeps an even pace with you the entire time.  You can literally tie the leash to your wrist and it's like she's not even there.  I would imagine in the proper environment that she would be fine off leash.  She rides great in the car and is a wonderful dog to take a nap with - just a terrific little companion dog and friend.
