BOOKER |

Update 08/12/2019:
Booker is 11 years old now. Booker is a black and white smooth coated BC. He is also a tripod, but having 3 legs does not hinder him in any way.
Booker is being returned to BCIN through no fault of his own. His owners have health issues and are moving into an assisted living situation. Booker was a very loyal dog to his mistress, following her around like her shadow everywhere she goes. They are very upset that they have to relinquish Booker, and they will miss him terribly. He has been their constant and loyal companion for the last 10 years.
Booker loves attention. He is very smart and understands commands. His owner made the comment that he thinks that Booker is much smarter than he is.
Although Booker is a senior pet, he still likes to play. He loves any toy you can safely toss in the house or outside. He naps between his play time. Booker gets regular twice daily walks for about 15 minutes at a time.
Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. Booker will be adopted under our senior program. This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that he can find a loving home where he can spend the rest of his golden years.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html

Original posting:
Booker is a wonderful 2 to 3 year-old black and white Border Collie. He has the typical BC temperament that we've all come to know and love - very intelligent, attentive, strong drive, and loads of energy. Booker is what we like to call a tripod - he is missing one of his rear legs. He came into rescue this way, so we are unsure what may have happened to him in the past. One thing that is certain, is that it does not slow him down the least bit! It's amazing to watch him run - he could honestly out-run a lot of four legged dogs! In fact, he would make a magnificent running or hiking partner as he is always rearing to go. Booker loves to play - whether it's fetching a ball, chewing on toys or wrestling with his fellow canine companions. He is great with other dogs and would likely be fine with children. He has not yet been cat tested. All in all, Booker is one amazing boy. He has the gentle nature and happy-go-lucky spirit that makes him irresistible. |
