Are you wanting to adopt a dog but don't want the hassle of breaking in a puppy or the uncertainty of a destructive ... *ahem* ... curious teenaged dog? Well, then look no further than our favorite girl Chevelle.
Chevy, as we fondly call her, is a 7-year-old Border Collie. But don't let her age fool you. She is full of energy and would make the perfect companion for someone who leads an active lifestyle. Don't worry, though, if you are a couch potato; Chevy has an off button and would do just as well cuddling up for some affection. How do we know this? Well, she has bonded with one of our volunteers -- who just so happens to be a couch potato -- and she loves to give him kisses. |

She does love fetching and jumping for her ball, so, if you have a pack of tennis balls, she has found her new best friend. She sports a smooth coat (so it's easier for you to keep clean and fewer fur balls will collect on your floors) and weighs around 50 pounds. Chevy's most striking feature -- the one that will get you compliments at the dog park or on the dog beach -- are her beautiful icy blue eyes. Did we mention that she also has a knack for flying through the air to catch her ball?
In her former life, Chevelle lived with a family, so she is used to people, big and small. She also is housebroken, has good manners, rides very well in the car and is good on a leash. She does, however, tend to counter surf, so no food should be left within her reach. Chevy lives with many other dogs of all sizes in her foster home, so she would not mind her forever home having another K9 pal (either a submissive female or any male K9 will do). She was an only dog in her first home, so she can handle that too, provided she gets the human interaction she craves. Chevy is especially fond of men, so if you are a guy and are looking for the perfect dog for you, here she is!
One more great thing about Chevy: She will be adopted under our senior program, so there's a big discount! Please ask us for details.
Chevy is such a lovely girl and deserves to find her real forever home. Could that be your place? We hope so! |
