CLANCY | |
|
Clancy is an adolescent 10 month old male Border Collie pup. He is red and white with a smooth coat. Clancy did not show well at the shelter. His shelter notes said to approach with caution because he was fearful. Clancy’s behavior was typical of an unsocialized shut down BC in the shelter. He was scared, yet when our volunteer went to see him, he managed to wag his tail.
It is apparent that Clancy was raised without any training and was not socialized with dogs or humans. He is truly a diamond in the rough for a person who has time and patience to invest in him. There is no doubt that Clancy will be a great dog under the right tutelage. Clancy can be a bit timid upon first meeting him, but once he warms up to you, he is affectionate and outgoing. He has improved so much over this last week. He loves playing with the other dogs in our program and he would be best placed with another dog. Clancy has quite of bit of energy, which is typical for his age.
Clancy’s adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. His adopter is going to need to start at square one as he is probably no housebroken nor has he been obedience trained.
As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family. If you are interested in meeting Clancy, please submit an adoption application. In addition to the adoption application, applicants will be required to answer some additional questions pertaining to puppies which will be sent to you after the adoption application has been submitted.
