COOPER |
|
Meet Cooper. He is a youngster at 10 months and is a male Border Collie Mix. It is hard to figure out what he is mixed with, as it may be Lab or German Short Haired Pointer. He is a larger fellow, weighing in at about 58 lbs.
Cooper was adopted from the shelter, however, he was returned because he did not like the resident cat. Therefore, he must be placed in a home without cats. The family who adopted him adored him, and we were told there was not a dry eye when he was returned to the shelter.
Cooper was a shelter favorite with the adoption coordinator, and she advocated him to us to please take him, as he was at risk of being euthanized, due to overcrowding at the shelter at Christmas time since he was not considered to be an owner surrender. This boy has a nice temperament, as she used him as an evaluation dog to test the temperament of other dogs that were impounded at the shelter.
Cooper is quite energetic, as we would rate his energy level as medium high. This would be appropriate for his age, as he is still a pup. Cooper is going to need consistent exercise in his life.
Cooper is affectionate, knows his basic obedience, socialized with other dogs, and has been around children over 8 years old. He walks well on a leash, but does protest when he is crated. If you are looking for a good family dog, then Cooper would make a good candidate.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
