Meet Dasher. This dashing senior male is between 8 -10 years young, but don't let his age fool you. This boy has a lot of get up and go and is so full of life. Dasher is a red and white smooth coated Border Collie with amber eyes. Upon meeting Dasher, he will immediately engage with you by coming right up to you and will lean right into you. Dasher is so sweet and affectionate and has very warm and sparkly eyes. He appears to come to life when he sees agility equipment, so we are not sure if he was a former agility dog. Dasher is quite the talker and will chime in with you when you sing to him, especially if you sing Jingle Bells to him. He has been introduced to a 3 year, and did not seem to have any issue with children. He is socialized with dogs, but appears to be reactive to our foster Chaz (the Spaz), who is probably too young and rambunctious around him. He walks well on a leash and appears to know his basic commands.
Dasher still has it in him to be an active dog and would love nothing better than to hang out with you and take a walk and hike. Dasher is definitely couch potato material and has an off button. The staff at our vet's office instantly fell for him, and I think you will too. Please give Dasher the furever home he deserves.
Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BCs, as it is fact that adoption rates in the shelter are reduced significantly once a dog reaches 5 years of age. BCIN was Dasher's only hope of making it out of the shelter and we gladly welcomed him into our rescue program. Dasher will be adopted under our Senior Program. This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that she can find a loving home where he spend the rest of her golden years.
