Jane is a special 1 year old black and white female semi rough coat purebred Border Collie. She is an extremely sweet and cuddly dog who wants to form a close bond with her human (she tends to be a one person dog).
Jane has a low to medium activity level, but don’t let that fool you. She exhibits the pure Border Collie personality traits in that she will manipulate and take control of your household if you are not an alpha human. She requires consistent, yet fair, discipline, and she will thrive with structure. Jane should be placed in a home that has previous experience with Border Collie behavior or dog training.
She is an eager learner and would benefit from an obedience class that would help boost her confidence level during her adolescence stage. Jane is sensitive and responds best to a soft spoken voice command (she becomes submissive with a harsh voice). Jane is a water baby and loves being in a kiddy pool. She is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door. She is OK with my dog savvy cats, however, she should not be adopted in a home that has small dogs. She is uncomfortable and nervous around smaller children and runs away from them, so, a home without small children is required. Jane will blossom and mature into a fine adult canine companion once she builds her confidence. Jane would be a perfect match if you are looking for a quiet companion, and your house is not overactive.
