Meet Jessie, a 5 month old female purebred Border Collie pup. She is smart as a whip and loves everyone. Loves to herd the other dogs in her foster home while they play ball. She has a natural herd drive about her and would need a job to do. For a 5 month old puppy her Foster Mom thinks she could be quite the sheep dog.
Jessie needs to go to an experienced Border Collie person/family who would be willing to channel her energy and possibly use her for herding. She will play ball all day when she's not with the other dogs, likes to play tug and is great with kids 5 and up. She has lived with cats in her previous home and did fine with them. She needs a home with a good sized back yard so she has plenty of room to run and play. Jessie is house-trained and crate-trained. She can settle down nicely in the house and would prefer to be with her person or persons as much as possible.
Being a puppy, she would need to have someone home during the day that can spend time with her and work with her. She knows sit, stay and would need to go to Puppy classes to help her become a well-rounded adult. Jessie does quite well on a leash and enjoys going for walks and rides well in the truck/car. Jessie is up to date on all her vaccinations and is microchipped.
Jessie is being fostered in East San Diego.
Jessie's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well-adjusted adult dog in your family.
