Kip is a 5 year old female black & white purebred Border Collie with a rough coat. She was probably a "back yard dog" and she self entertains. She is learning to walk on leash. She does play well with the other dogs when she engages, but is most happy chasing imaginary bugs on the ground. Unfortunately this is a common issue when Border Collies are not given a job to do and this can be re-channeled with some positive activity. It is possible that she has been debarked. We just heard her bark for the first time and it is a very quiet, hoarse type of sound typical of debarking which is something that BCIN does not advocate in any way. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She is a dominant female and would be best placed with another male or as an "only dog" in a home where her humans are with her most of the time. She is an excellent candidate for a retired person as she settles down so nicely. She rides very well in the truck and likes to look at the scenery passing by. She has not been evaluated on cats at this time, but can be tested upon request. A home without children is recommended for Kip. A very sweet and loving girl with many years to give to the right person. Is that you? |
