Meet Oliver. Oliver is a 1 year old smooth coat border collie mix. This yearling came to BCIN via the shelter as a stray. Oliver is very sweet. He is still learning basic commands and learning not to jump. He doesn't jump on furniture but wants to greet you when you get home. He is still has a lot of puppy in him so it is a good idea to have few toys on hand. He can be a trash digger, but we have learned to curb that behavior. Now that we have told you all of his quirks here are the amazing things about him.
Oliver loves everyone he comes across, even all kinds of dogs. Oliver is very bright fun loving dog, with not a mean bone in his body. He is a social butterfly and wants to be around people and other dogs. He doesn't even mind chickens. We are not sure about cats but I really think he would be fine. He is house broken and sleeps right next to our bed on his bed. He was being crated at night at first and didn't mind it. But now he prefers sleeping next to our bed. He does walk well on a leash and he also rides well in the car. Oliver is full of energy and would do best with an active lifestyle. He loves, loves, loves toys! With a little direction and lots of love Oliver would be a great addition to any family.
Oliver's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising an adolescent pup, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies and young dogs, socialization and obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well-adjusted adult dog in your family.
