Oreo is an amazing girl who I have been working with for months now. She has been in foster now for a very long time and has been patiently waiting for her forever home! We have no info on her past but we can say when she arrived she acted similar to a breeder dog, one spent in a small cage only - no idea about the car, being inside, humans, etc. She was so traumatized when she arrived it was heartbreaking, yet within 24 hrs she decided to give much of it up to blend in with the pack and get some lovin' of her own. NOW - she is awesome inside and out, loves adventures, walks well on a leash, loves to play fetch, go swimming or hiking. She and Miel (my Heeler) have become fast friends and she has come leaps and bounds in her recovery.
She desperately needs to find a solid home (or foster) of her own so that she does not bond too deeply here at SBCDR. We are very committed to this girl and are willing to go above and beyond to help anyone who may think they have room in their lives to continue working with her! She is great with other dogs, cats, but would be best in an adult home. She is slow to trust humans so that is where the continued rehab would focus. We have learned lots of fun new games to continue helping her realize we humans aren't so bad. Once she decides to trust you, man watch out, cause she is as affectionate as they come!!! She is a mid level energy, herding breed dog so knowledge of their tendencies is a plus or at least a willingness to learn...these are smart dogs!! She is fabulous in the house, car, love to swim, play catch, and go for hikes. She really is a lovely companion! Oreo really has a lot to offer, so please, give us a call and hear more of her story, and perhaps make a new best friend!!
Can you help her? Do you know someone who may be interested? Please, Please, Please pass this on and always feel free to contact us at (805) 815-7233 for more details! |
