Roux (pronounced ROO, or Rue, French for red) is an 11 month-old female BC mix, 28 pounds with a red sable and white, semi rough coat. She was turned in to the Bakersfield Shelter as a stray and not much is known of her history.
Roux is young enough that she's as close to a clean slate as you can get without all the hassles of puppy raising. We're talking fantastic opportunity here for that lucky adopter. She's modeling clay, absolutely primed for training and bonding with her person. Roux is a super duper SWEET teenager, unsure of herself just yet, but she gets along with all her foster siblings and she knows her place in the pack. Even the most dominant dog can't resist her charms!
Adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family.
Roux is available now for adoption appointments to approved applicants.
