Sammy is a 4½ year old Border Collie that was born in Northern California and now lives in Southern California. Sammy is used to having wide open spaces to run and be a typical Border. As a Southern California dog, Sammy does great with us as long as we are constantly with him. Sammy stays in the house when we go to work and does fine, however he should be out running and playing. We want Sammy to have a home that suits his Border Collie needs, as Sammy is a very intelligent dog that needs a lot of exercise.

Sammy was fixed at a young age, and does not have medical issues. He is lightning fast and has a great spirit. Since we moved down South, Sammy has made the children his job. Sammy likes to herd children and is very sweet to kids, however I think it can get to be a little much when he is constantly fixated on what the kids are doing. Also, he likes to control where they go, is a little nippy, and he gets nervous when they play on the trampoline or just act like kids. For this reason, I suggest that he lives in a house without children. Sammy knows many words and several tricks, and he is very easy to train. I would love to keep Sammy but it is not fair to him given our current living situation.
