Skye is a 6 month old, female, Border Collie mix with all the traits of a purebred BC. She is predominantly black with a little tan/white on her but she is cute as a button and very sweet. She just wants to crawl in your lap and give you hugs.
Skye came into rescue as an Owner Relinquishment. The woman that had her had a really hard time giving her up, but because of health issues, she had no choice. Skye can be a little shy at first but eventually warms up to you. She is especially shy around men but is getting better. Skye gets along great with other dogs, although she can sound like she wants to eat them when she has a dog that plays hard with her. She will try to herd them but it's just in play. She loves to play with the other dogs and is good with children, probably best over 5 years.
Skye knows how to use a dog door, still needs some work on potty training and walking on a leash but she is improving in those areas. Skye does know "sit" and "come" but will need someone who is willing to take her to Puppy Classes to become an even better puppy and adult. She is very smart and a quick learner and wants to please. Skye loves to chase a tennis ball and will actually bring it back sometimes.
Skye does have some interest in the goats who live next door to her foster home and could possibly be a herding prospect, or maybe Agility would suit her better. Either way, Skye will definitely need some sort of job to keep her busy, mentally and physically.
Skye is being fostered in San Diego County.
