Meet Pickles. Pickles is a female one year-old purebred medium coat border collie looking for an active family to help her express her border collie self! Pickles was purchased as a puppy by an elderly couple who had no idea of what they were getting. They did housebreak and crate train her, but were nowhere near up for this task of caring this whipsmart, energetic, enthusiastic young girl.

Pickles is all of about 30 pounds. She’s light and lean and fast. She also wants a job, something her original owners could not begin to provide her. She’s looking for a home that will keep her brain and body occupied.

She’s good with other dogs, although she can get saucy when overstimulated. She’s friendly and affectionate but not good for a home with small children for obvious reasons. She might think they are sheep and try to herd them! Pickles is currently in foster with someone who’s giving her a lot of opportunities to run as well as learning to work sheep. She is showing exceptional potential as a working or competitive dog. The best suited home for her as an ideal placement would involve hobby herding or agility or some other activity to keep brain and body sufficiently stimulated.

Pickles is not suited for the first time Border Collie owner who does not undestand the challeges of channeling her inner BC energy with a stimulating job. If you have questions about this sweet special border collie, please email her foster home at k9krma@gmail.com
