PEBBLES
Adopted together with Bam Bam
| |
 |
Pebbles is an 18-24 month-old miniature Australian Shepherd female mix. She looks very much like a small Border Collie, but her size simply points to mini aussie. Pebbles was left with her baby, Bam Bam, and an Australian Shepherd on the shelter steps (we believe they all lived in the same household). Once inside the shelter, they were fine, until the Australian Shepherd got adopted, then both girls got real scared. As a matter-of-fact, they decided to separate the girls because left together in the same kennel, they just stayed huddled up together in the back of the kennel shaking.
Pebbles blossomed quicker than Bam Bam did, but once we got them out of there, they were not only thrilled to be together again, they were instantly happy, comfortable and no longer afraid.
While in quarantine together in their foster home, both girls were absolute angels. They didn't bark, cry, whine or whimper. And no chewing. Both had Kennel Cough, with Pebbles being a classic case that lasted 2 weeks; Bam Bam's was very mild. Once incorporated with the pack, Pebbles showed a little bit of growliness at first, but it was very minor and only lasted for 1-2 days. Since then, both girls are happy as larks, spending their days chasing each other around the back yard, enjoying a meal and a nice nap. Pebbles loves to sun bathe on the chaise lounge after a nice run in the sprinklers. | |

Both girls are very agile, with Pebbles showing agility type traits (she loves to climb up things, etc.) Neither one is an escape artist, although, due to their slight size, you need to be careful about them slipping through a door. Pebbles follows voice commands very well and is the perfect house guest. She barks once in awhile, but I wouldn't call her a barker at all. She likes to sleep on the bed with you (preferring half-way down the bed) and likes to snuggle with you in the morning. Both girls are big kissers! She gets along with all my dogs perfectly and has never had a fight with any of them.
As you can see from her photos, Pebbles is cuter than heck. She is a small dog, weighing probably 25-28 lbs. Pebbles is scheduled to be spayed on August 16th and will be available for adoption a few days after that. It would be nice if Pebbles and Bam Bam could be placed together (we do give a discount on two dogs :o)), but I would consider separating them. I would prefer not to place her as an only dog as being with and playing with other dogs just brings her so much joy and I don't want to take that away from her. |
Pebbles is being fostered in the South Bay area. |
