Meet Bear. Bear is a male 9 months old black & white traditionally marked Borde Collie with a semi rough coat. Bear is an owner surrender to BCIN. He was adopted at 5 months of age from the shelter and his owners are moving, so Bear is now looking for his new home.
Bear is a very energetic pup, so an active home is a must! He loves to run and play, so consistent exercise is required with someone who walks a lot or is a runner. He is a super chewer and can chew at record speed. Chew toys need to be plentiful, along with play toys.
Bear is as cute as he could be and just as nice! He is well socialized with people and other dogs. Bear enjoys playing with his foster siblings and has appropriate manners with them. He also attended doggy day care several times a week without incident. Bear has not been evaluated with cats. His previous owner has a 7 year old and is fine with children 7 years and above.
Bear is housetrained, crate trained, and does well both inside and out. He knows how to use a doggy door. He is crated at night for sleeping and does well in his crate. Bear knows basic obedience: sit, lay down, stay, and come. He is also leash trained.
Like most Border Collies, Bear is looking for " his person" to partner with. He bonds quickly and wants to be by your side all the time. He is truly a velcro dog. Bear will thrive in a home with someone home most of the time who can spend a lot of time with him. He does need a yard to run and play in. A six foot fence is a must for him as he is very athletic.
Bear's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family.
