Meet Bella. Bella is a pretty and petite 3 year old female Border Collie. She is a semi rough coat and weighs in at about 35 lbs. She has the cutest pink and black mottled nose. Bella came to BCIN via Tulare as she was an owner surrender to shelter. After getting down on the ground to her level, she immediately came right up and nuzzled right into our volunteer’s lap. It’s hard to believe that this sweet-natured dog was dumped at the shelter. It is evident that Bella was once a loved and well cared for dog.
Bella can be a bit timid when you meet her, but she is one to warm up quickly. Because of being shy, we do not recommend a home with small children or one that has a lot of stimulus. Bella knows all of her basic commands and walks well on a leash. She rides well in the car and lies down right next to you. As you can see from the photos, Bella comes alive when a ball is presented to her, as she loves to play fetch. Bella has not been reactive around other dogs and appears to have been well socialized with them.
Bella has all of the wonderful traits that BC aficionados love about this breed, and she doesn't appear to have any of the obsessive traits this breed is known for. Bella is looking for that person that she can forge a close bond to, as I am sure she is trying to process why she was dumped in a shelter. Bella has an off button and will settle down right next to you. She is quite the love bug and craves human interaction. She would like nothing more than to be your new K9 BFF.
