Bleu is a nice looking young male blue merle smooth coated border collie who is about 12-18 months old. Bleu has gorgeous odd colored eyes, with one blue eye and the other brown. We recently listed a dog by the name of Slate who could be his brother. They look and act so much the same, about the same age, and both came from Central California, although Bleu was an owner surrender and his look-a-like was picked up as a stray.
Bleu is typical of his breed. He is energetic and needs a job to do, as he is a busy fellow who would be best placed in an active home. His energy level is medium high and he requires a household that is active where he will have a job to do. He would make a fabulous running / hiking partner or could be trained for amateur dog sports.
Bleu is very loving, playful, sweet, outgoing, and likes hanging out with his people. He listens well, is obedient, and will be a cinch to train. Further obedience classes are recommended since he seems to have only minimal training. Bleu is also crate trained and housebroken. Bleu walks OK on a leash, so he could use a little more training in this department. He already knows his basic obedient commands.
He gets along well with other dogs but he likes his personal space and will correct other dogs when they jump on him uninvited when playing. Bleu epitomizes what BC fans love about this breed…smart, obedient, and athhletic. Bleu is really a sweetheart and such a nice dog. Bleu would be best suited to a home with previous Border Collie experience or a home that is VERY herding breed savvy.
