CAPTAIN
Captain

Captain is a 2 year old, black tri-colored male, purebred Australian Shepherd.  Captain has had to process a lot of change in his short life.  He was an owner surrender originally to BCIN, and he is being rehomed once again, as he is fighting with the other male dog in his house.  Captain can be placed as an only dog, or with a submissive female dog.  He does exhibit some food aggression when he is fed with another dog (not people), so he should be fed separately from other dogs.

Captain needs to be with an individual/couple/family who can properly handle and manage him in a positive and constructive way by providing him with a consistent and strong routine.  While in public, he gets along with other dogs and he was previously going to doggie daycare.  Captain's absolute favorite thing to do is fetch tennis balls in the yard and dog park.  This boy is ball obsessed.  He is extremely talented and accurate with catching them!  His new owner should be happy and willing to play with him daily, as he NEEDS this activity, along with walks, etc.  Captain also enjoys any other outdoor activity.  His second love is water!  He wants to be IN it, and he absolutely LOVES to swim, whether it be a swimming pool, lake, or beach.  This boy is made for the water.  He also likes being bathed.  He is a very active boy and needs a lot of attention and physical and mental stimulation.

Captain loves to ride in the car, and is a great little traveler ,but he does not like the crate.  Aside from problems with the other resident male dog, he is an awesome dog with so much to offer!  He's very obedient, house trained, and he's never destroyed or chewed one thing he wasn't suppose to.  In his down time Captain is very loving and affectionate, and sweet.  He needs his forever home where he will gets lots of love, attention and belly rubs.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
