CASSANDRA
Cassandra
Cassandra aka "Casey" is a 3-year-old Border Collie mix.  She's a quite strikingly-marked girl with her black head and heavily freckled or mottled white areas.  The white on her semi rough coat is so snow white looking.  This girl weighs about 37 pounds.

Casey lost her home because she has one particular talent.  She is quite adept at climbing chain link fencing.  What we have found is that once she has bonded, fencing as short as 4 feet will contain her as long as she is with her people.  She has not climbed to escape and run, but rather to follow her foster mom about the property while doing livestock chores.  She is good with sheep, goats, poultry, waterfowl, and rabbits, not bothering any of them.  She does chores daily and is reliable not to bother any of the stock.  She would make a fabulous ranch dog.

Casey wants one thing and that is to be with her person all the time.  She is not needy for attention and is happy to just be in the same room while you are about your business.  She adores riding in the truck and going on adventures.  She jumps into the bed like she has been ridden that way as well.  Of course we do not condone this for any dog and it is now illegal to ride a dog loose unless on a ranch.

Casey would be perfect for a person who works from home or a retired person.  She has such a sweet and gentle nature, she would be an excellent therapy dog.  Of course block wall fencing is needed to contain her or a person who lives in an apartment that doesn't have a yard.  Without a yard to run in, she would need daily exercise 2 times a day.

She is an angel in the house, doesn't counter surf, is fully housebroken, and knows her house manners.  She has been a joy to have as a foster and someone will be very lucky indeed to bond with this girl.
