CHARM
Charm

Charm is a young adult female about 1 ½ years old.  She is a smooth coated sable and white Border Collie.  Charm's story is a bit sad, as she is another sad canine victim of this lousy economy.  Her former owners' home was foreclosed upon and they moved out without making any provisions for Charm.  She was left to fend for herself without food or water.  Luckily, animal control was notified fairly quickly and it appears that Charm did not deteriorate physically from the ordeal.  However, her wounds are emotional from abandonment and neglect.  Scared, frightened, anxious, and shutdown, Charm was taken to a high kill shelter where her conditioned worsened.  When our volunteers went to the shelter to see her, she was low growling and cowered in the back of the kennel where she was shaking.  This poor dog needed to be rescued immediately.

Since coming into our rescue program, Charm is slowly learning to trust again.  Although still nervous, it took all of 5 minutes to sit with her to find out what a beautiful soul she has.  Charm is a true testament to the power of TLC.  Her emotional scars are starting to heal, her coat is starting to gain luster, but best of all, her eyes are now showing gleam and have come to life again.  Without a doubt and given a chance, Charm will blossom into one of the sweetest, most appreciative, and affectionate dogs you will ever meet.

Charm is looking for a loving and patient human thats she can trust, forge a close bond, and who will nurture her back to her full potential.  She will require an experienced adopter who is familiar with this breed; one who knows how to correct her without being physical.  She is very soft and responds well to soft spoken commands.

Charm was rescued with another dog (who was subsequently adopted from the shelter).  She is a submissive female and needs a home that is quiet and slower paced.  She still is a bit apprehensive and nervous with loud noises and fast movement, therefore, a home without children is recommended.  She is walking better on the leash, as she is starting to bond with her foster mom.

At this point, Charm is a special dog that will not appeal to the average adopter.  BCIN will only consider serious applicants who can relate to her story and are willing to invest their time, energy, and emotion to make her completely whole again.  BCIN has committed a long term place in our rescue program until that special adopter appears.  Charm is so deserving and she is a wonderful dog!  Stay tuned for updates on Charm's progress and watch her blossom into the awesome dog that BCIN knows she will become.
