NORANORA
Christy
Nora, formerly known as Christy, is a petite and shy 1-2 year old female border collie.  Although her photo looks like she is traditionally marked black and white BC, she is actually a tri-colored with some minor sable markings on her.  She is semi rough coated and weighs in at about 30 lbs.  We believe that she is Vicki's sister as they came into the shelter together.  Both were quite under socialized, and a bit weary of humans.  It did not take them long to come around and now seek your constant attention with their tails wagging.  Nora was not leash broken, however, she now can walk decently on a leash, but is bothered by loud noises.  She also rides well in the car.

Nora's personality can be described as a submissive female and she can be placed as an only dog.  She does enjoy being with other dogs and is well socialized with them.  She is crate trained, however, she has had some potty incidents in her crate, so she is not housebroken at this point.  Her activity level is medium, however, consistent exercise is a must.  She is a soft and sensitive dog, so she also needs home that will be patient with her and is committed to building her confidence through positive reinforcement training.  A slower paced home without a lot of stimulus would be best suited her.  She loves to have tummy rubs and is so very affectionate.  Nora is not a good choice for the 1st time dog or BC owner.  She would be best suited in a home with herding breeding experience, and her own person wanting to partner with and forge a bond with her, and one who is committed to building her confidence.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application.  We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.  The electronic application can be found on our website at www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
