GARTH
Garth
Hi, my name is Garth.  I am approximately    2 » years old male classically marked border collie with a semi rough cough.  When the good folks at BCIN rescued me late last Spring, I was very sick a very nasty upper respiratory infection that turned into bilateral pneumonia within the week.  I loved all of the tender loving care as I was given at the vet's and during my recovery.  I have fully recovered fully with no adverse affects to my health.

I am a typical Border Collie with moderate to medium high energy.  I do have an off button if given lots of daily and consistent exercise.  I love to run and take lots of long walks.  I'm not too interested in fetching a ball or Frisbee, so I think it would be wonderful to find a good running or hiking partner and someone with an active lifestyle.  I am eager to learn and do know some basic obedience commands.  I walk well on a leash as long as you like to walk at a fast pace.

I have good house manners as long as you don't mind me getting up on the couch to cuddle with you.  I don't counter surf.  I don't touch things that don't belong to me and I am house trained.  Did I mention I love to cuddle?  I'm very sweet and affectionate.  My foster mom calls me a "Velcro Dog", whatever that means.  I just know that I love attention and want to be with my person all the time.

I get along well with most other dogs.  I probably wouldn't be good in a home with a cat as I like to chase little critters that run from me.  Small children probably wouldn't be a good idea either.  I'm a very sweet, loving guy looking for a home where I will get lots of attention and exercise.  My ideal home is one where I will thrive with consistent exercise and obedience training, as I possess has the traits that BC owners like about this breed.
