Gizmo came to us as a medical needs dog. He was the pet project of the shelter rescue coordinator, having been relinquished by his owners with a head tilt. The shelter vet found foxtails in his ear and it had become very infected. When we met to take Gizmo, we were quite surprised because his shelter photo was quite the fooler. He is quite a small fellow and a smooth coat and our best guess is that he is BC/Jack Russell Terrier. He weighed 19.6 pounds the last time he was in to our vet for a check of his ear and clearance for adoption. He still has a very slight tilt but we find that just makes him more charming. We also know he was born 6/25/2009.
We really have fallen head over heels for this youngster. It is easy to see why he became the shelter's pet project. He is such a little lover boy and very comical. A real social butterfly, he gets along with everyone, human and canine alike, although as a total lap dog, he seems to prefer humans. Now, at almost 8-months-old, we believe he is very close to full grown. He might top out at 22 pounds, if kept at a healthy weight.
Stay tuned for updates as we get to know this charmer better. What a great dog!
