Meet Joey~ Available for Adoption From Border Collies In Need (Location: Riverside, CA)
Joey is a 5 month old male border collie puppy that is traditionally marked. He was rescued out of a high kill shelter.
Joey has really thrived in his foster home. He gets along with all the other dogs and really enjoys playing with the ones closer to his age.
Joey is very friendly with people and seems to really love children.
Joey has learned to sleep in his crate at night. He has not had any accidents in the house and will go to the door if he needs to go out
He is learning to walk on a leash but needs more confidence building in that respect. As with all puppies strange noises can sometime startle him but he quickly recovers.
Joey would do well in a home with lots of attention. He will not do well as just a backyard dog but should be included in the family. A dog savvy home, preferably with border collies, is a must. Joey has not been tested with cats so we don't know how he is with them.
Joey's adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family. Our dogs have been microchipped and are up to date on their vaccinations. Our adult dogs have been sterilized, however Joey can't be neutered until he is six months of age.
