LEENA

Leena is a young at heart 6-year-old Black amp; White, rough coat Border Collie, possible mix. She has had one owner for the past five years. She showed up at his office after living on the street for an unknown period of time. She adopted him immediately and went home for a few full baths and real food. After two fruitless months of searching for her original owner, she became a full member of the household and a great friend.
Unfortunately, where she lived was purchased and the rent increased to the point where they had to move. Unable to find a place where they could stay together, Leena went to stay with other friends for the past year plus. Her present residence was with a friend who owned a cat. When the cat (20yrs. old) passed, the cat's owner decided that she could no longer keep animals. So, Leena needs a new home.
While she is around six years old, don't tell her that. She is a wonderful house guest, still enjoys playing with others and taking long walks. She is very smart, has a strong affinity for children and a full regard for the adults that she stays with. She's around 35-38 lbs. and is in very good health with great teeth that she seems to take pride in maintaining. She plays well with other dogs and has a special liking towards other Border Collies, the "Doodles", some large breeds (Danes and Bernese as examples) and almost any others that love to run and wrestle. She is somewhat hesitant around pit bulls (she has been jumped by pit bulls a couple of times at the RB Dog Park).
Those that know Leena are always pleased to see her at the park and watch with amusement when she gets all four feet in the water bowl and lowers herself into it. She also enjoys playing on the rain, laying down in puddles and walking into the ocean (at the harbor) to roll in the waves.
Leena is looking for someone who understands the breed, who can play and walk with her. She requires very little oversight, is fully house-trained and protective of her owner and residence without being overly aggressive. She has a great understanding of terms and words and is patient regarding feeding schedules.
She is her present owner's best friend and would not be looking for a new place if circumstances did not force it. If you are interested in Leena, please contact Skip at skipolsson@earthlink.net or 310.938.1900. |
