MAC
Mac
An urgent message was forwarded to rescue groups and volunteers all over Southern California. Someone needed to act fast.  A “great and friendly dog needs out” of a local animal shelter soon ... or else.

Well, his foster parent couldn't let “... or else” happen, so that “great and friendly dog” was spared, (he really is great and friendly, as advertised), and now awaits his forever home. Meet Mac, an approximately 2-year-old male Border Collie mix (as listed by the shelter).

Not much is known about Mac's past as he came to the Devore shelter as a stray.  We do know that Mac is as sweet as they come.  He loves receiving affection from any and all humans, and he even leans into your body as if to say, “Thank you for the love and attention”.  He will also roll over to ask for belly rubs when he is really excited.

Mac appears to get along with all dogs, big or small.  He was housed with two smaller dogs during his time at the Devore shelter, and he quickly took to his foster canine sibling, wrestling and playing chase within minutes of meeting him.

On the car ride home, Mac was a great passenger.  He would occasionally look out the window, but the majority of the time he simply curled up and hit the snooze button.  He also handles decently well on a leash, but Mac could use a little more work in that department.

We are still learning about Mac, so we aren't sure if he is housebroken or knows how to use a doggy door.  But Mac does appear to have an off button, as he is laying quietly at his foster parent's feet while this bio is being written.

Mac is neutered, up to date on all his shots and is microchipped.  He is only missing his forever home, so act fast!

UPDATE: Mac is back up for adoption as he was being “a little bit destructive” being an only dog. Back into a foster home, he has been the perfect house guest.  Only got one tennis ball that was outside “drying in the sun”.  Oh well.  He rarely barks, has really nice house manners, will stay off the furniture if you want (but he’s a great snuggler, so what the heck).  Will sleep on the floor at night.  Completely house broken, and LOVES children.  Great with birds.  Super cute funny boy with one ear WAY up and one ear WAY down.  Mac is being fostered in Torrance.
