Meet Nitro. Nitro was adopted from BCIN as a puppy and he has recently been returned to us because his owner has health issues. Nitro is a 7-8 years old and is a male tri colored Australian Shepard. Nitro is a really good dog. He loves to go for walks and be with his person. He isn't really into playing ball. Right now we are working on his weight since he is a bit overweight due to inactivity.
Nitro loves everyone and gets along well with other dogs. He has not been evaluated with cats. He is housebroken and wants to hang out with you most of the time. He needs someone to spend time with him and make sure he gets his daily walks. He could use some work on the leash, but is a fast learner. He will require frequent grooming due to his plush Aussie coat.
If you are looking for a good family dog with a good temperament, then Nitro is your candidate. Nitro has been well loved, and was well taken care of until his owner became ill. His former owner describes him as a very loving dog who enjoys being around people. |
Nitro's original bio and pics:
Nitro is a zestful 6 month old tri colored male Border Collie/Aussie mix. He has a semi rough coat and a docked tail. He was listed in “doggie jail” as a Border Collie, but after meeting him, that wonderful Aussie personality just shined through. After driving so far to evaluate him, we couldn't turn our backs on him, so, we welcomed him into our rescue program with open arms. Nitro is full of life and he has such a happy go lucky attitude. He is so affectionate and such a lover. He thoroughly enjoys being the the center of attention and is such a “ham”. He gets along very well with all dogs, including the resident foster puppy. He hasn't meet a human (or dog) he didn't like. Nitro thinks everyone is here to shower their attention and affection on him. He is so eager to please and would benefit from puppy obedience class to fine tune his manners. We have not evaluated him with small children or cats, but we suspect he would be fine with them. He is going to become quite a handsome fellow and a spectacular companion for some lucky person/family.
