Ripley is a three-year-old Border Collie, probably a mix. He weighs about 50 pounds and has that maintenance-free smooth coat.
Rip was pretty sick on intake and painfully thin. He had a bad bout of kennel cough and parasites. It has taken awhile to get him on the weight gain track, though we are finally there. He could still use a few pounds, though. Named for Ripley's believe it or not, we didn't think we would have space to pull him. Lucky for him most of the "BCs" listed at this high kill shelter were not even close to Borders that day. So believe it or not, Ripley he became ;-)
Rip is medium activity and is showing herding instinct. His "job" is to herd Laney all day if he can. She corrects him when he gets too far up her backside and he takes it well. Since he enjoys the company of other dogs, we are looking for a home with a similarly active female buddy. He is quite obedient and takes soft corrections so well. A cuddle bug when the action slows down, he is going to make excellent best friend material.
