Meet Ritchie. Ritchie is a 5 year old male smooth coated Border Collie. Ritchie came to our rescue as a stray from a high kill shelter.
Ritchie is one of the nicest dogs you will ever meet. Such a sweet temperament he has, with a gentle soul. Ritchie is more of a companion dog and is lower on the energy spectrum. This is a dog who wants to forge a close bond with his person. He is a soft dog and takes a soft command. Ritchie is well socialized with other dogs and enjoys their company. He is crate trained, and appears to be housebroken. He walks nicely on a leash and knows his basic commands.
Ritchie is a bit anxious in the car, so he needs to travel in a crate for everyone's safety. Although crate trained in his foster home, he is not eager to get in a crate in the car. He will do it under protest, but he paws at the bottom of the crate when driving. He has gotten better, so perhaps a patient person can help him overcome this. So, if you are looking for a dog to pal around with around your home and to take on walks, Ritchie is your dog. Also, if you don't know a lot about Border Collies, Ritchie would be a great introduction into the herding breeds. All in all, Ritchie
is a wonderful dog and he as lots of love to give for many years to come.
