Welcome!
ROXY
Leo
Meet Roxy.  She is a spayed female Border Collie, about 6 ½ years old.  She is current on shots and is micro chipped.  Her mom passed away 2 years ago and she has been neglected and living in the back yard with no attention, no fresh water and no companionship.  Her dad remarried and the new wife did not like dogs.  Roxy was headed to the pound and I could not let that happen after hearing her story.  She weighed in at 62lbs when we visited the vet and I was surprised it was that low.  She is very overweight and needs to lose 20lbs.  She is on the green bean diet since I got her and she has lost weight.

Roxy loves to play ball.  She is good with cats and maybe another dog that is not an “alpha”.  She wants to please and is always by my side.  If I wake up at night just to turn over, she gets up and checks on me.  She is not food aggressive nor will she go over to another dogs food.  Roxy is housebroken and uses the doggie door, is good in the car and will wait there while you do quick errands (car doors locked and air on!).  She does not destroy anything in the house but do not put her in a closed up room.  She will try to remove the door.

She does not like being in a crate, so if you intend on crating her then I will tell you NO!  She does not like to be in a confined space and will do anything necessary to escape.  She will drive you crazy wanting to play ball, so If you don’t like throwing the ball then Roxy is not the right dog for you.  Her prior owners said she does not like fireworks and will try to flee.  She will pull on leash, so training is needed in this area.  I don’t know how she is around children.  If you own another dog you need to know that Roxy can be VERY possessive of the owners space,.i.e resource guarding.

So if you're not looking for a dog that will greet you at the door and squeal with joy that you came home, follow you everywhere and look at you with eyes of pure love, kiss the cats, and just wants to please you, then this isn't your dog.  But if you're looking for these thing then guess what...you just found the dog of your dreams.

There is a re-homing fee of $125.00 which will be donated to Border Collies In Need.  It has been requested that a BCIN application be filled out.  Please contact Bonita if you are interested in Roxie at sndaygardner@att.net or (661) 873-1444.
