SHEP
Shep
Shep is an 11 month-old purebred Border Collie.  His sable coloration is not common within Border Collies and highly desired.  His coat is very silky and will fill in as he matures.  He will have a very long coat by the time he reaches 3-4 years old.  Such a striking boy with rich amber eyes of an old soul.  He is still at the geeky "teenage" stage.  SHEP will be average sized with a projected mature weight of 45-50 pounds if kept fit & trim.  Typical of males of the breed, he is extremely affectionate and cuddly.

SHEP has a medium activity level.  We are recommending a home without cats because although he has never harmed one, he does fixate on them.  Having been a ranch dog, he will need further socialization to help him adapt, especially in a city with noise and activity.  Given patience, training, and exposure to the wonders of the world, SHEP is going to bond to his person in a very special way.

UPDATE: Shep has been moved to a private foster home and is blowing his foster family away at how adorable and loving he is.  He is the only shy border collie I have ever seen who absolutely adores men.  His favorite thing to do is sleep with you - for hours!  He loves to be near you and as close as possible.  Shep is one of the quietest, most well behaved dogs I have ever seen.  He is silent. He is so omega - no fights from this boy.  He knows how to shake hands and is a big flirt.  He looks at you with such love and adoration.  I hope he doesn't get adopted too fast, because I want to enjoy this boy for awhile longer!
