Remember Sparky from the Harbor Shelter?

I'm heartbroken to say we aren't able to keep her, because she needs to be the only dog in her own territory. She does not get along with our Riley, who was a mess when we rescued her. We had the very best intentions of providing a senior dog that was dumped at the Harbor shelter a loving home for her last years. It was determined by our vet that Sparky is about 12-13 years old, although the shelter said she was 15. She is spayed and up to date on her shots.

She is a wonderful, devoted, loving dog, constantly tuned in to us, ready to please. She enjoys meeting new people. She likes to take walks and walks well on a leash. She's hard of hearing, but it's not a problem for her at all. When she came to our home, she had a leaky bladder. Our vet put her on estrogen and the problem was completely solved. We highly recommend that Sparky be in a house with a doggie door. She knows to do her business outside, but if the urge comes on her suddenly with her old lady bladder, and we aren't close by to grab her leash and run her out, she can have an accident. We keep her on a schedule, so the potty accidents have been at a minimum now.

She's as cute as can be. She loves to snuggle up on the couch with us. Good news is, she doesn't shed. But, she needs to be in a home with no other dogs. She does not get along and fights with our other dog, Riley, who has been part of our family for five years.

If anyone wants to give this deserving girl a home, or knows anyone who would, please message me ASAP. We have everything you will need for her. She's been to our vet, has all her shots and is microchipped. Now she just needs a loving home where she is the only dog. I'd be happy to help out in the transition from home to home if you'd like. Our dog Riley is staying with friends for now, but they can only keep him for two or three more days before he needs to come back home. I DO NOT WANT to take dear Sparky back to the shelter, but if no alternative presents itself, I won't know what else to do.

If you are interested in Sparky, please contact Helen at helavely@aol.com or call/text me at Cell: 310.503.6118
