STITCH
Stitch

Meet Stitch.  Stitch is a male 3 year old black and white Lab mix.  The best way to describe Stitch is that he is a large dog trapped in a small dog's body.  He wants nothing more than to be your faithful canine companion.  Stitch has an outgoing personality and is very affectionate.  Because he is a larger dog, sometimes Stitch is quite exuberant and does not know his strength, so he can knock over smaller children.  However, he would be great around older kids and would be an excellent candidate for a family dog.  Stitch is very well socialized with other dogs and people.  Stitch loves to play with the foster dogs in our program, especially the females.  He walks well on a leash, but he needs to be reminded not to pull.  Stitch will require some consistent exercise in his life, as he does have medium energy.  Stitch is crate trained, and will hop right into a crate.  He also knows the concept of a doggie door.  Stitch is very bothered by cats and squirrels, so he requests a home without other small animals.

Stitch came to BCIN from a very high kill shelter from the Inland Empire.  Stitch had been injured by impaling himself on a fence that required extensive sutures.  The shelter stitched him up but they for forgot to list him as available for adoption and Stitch became immediately slated for euthanization at the end of the day of his available date.  Stitch was advocated to BCIN as a BC mix, and a decision was made to bail him despite that he has no BC in him.  Our volunteers have affectionately dubbed him our BC Wannabe.  Despite his diverse heritage, he is no less deserving of a loving home, and our rescue program is committed to finding it for him.  Stitch does have a limp from an old injury, and he was checked out by an orthopedic surgeon.  X Rays were taken, but it was determined that his leg could not be fixed.  It doesn't bother him, and it doesn't slow him down a bit.  His medical records are available.

Stitch is very loyal and wants to forge a close bond with his person.  If you are looking for a love monkey, then Stitch is your dog.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
