For those Border Collie lovers that appreciate a dignified senior, have we got a dog for you! We would like to introduce you to Winston!
Winston is between 9 and 10, he came to us from the Bakersfield area in need of love and attention. He has excellent house manners, but does need work on basic commands. He loves his mile and a half morning walk and still has energy to play ball with 2 much younger members of his foster pack afterward. Although he gets along well with other dogs, he has not been tested with cats. Winston is very calm and gentle with children, aged five and over. He enjoys being with his people, will follow them from room to room. For a senior, Winston has quite a lot of spunk and is so easy to love. He so deserves to spend his golden years loved and spoiled by a new very special forever family.
Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BCs, as it is fact that adoption rates in the shelter are reduced significantly once a dog reaches 5 years of age. BCIN was Winston's only hope of making it out of the shelter and we gladly welcomed him into our rescue program. Winston will be adopted under our Senior Program. This means we reduce our adoption fee significantly so that he can find a loving home where he spend the rest of her golden years.
