AMBER
Perdy
Amber is a drop dead gorgeous 1 year old red and white purebred border collie with a semi rough coat.

Amber is an active dog that will require either a sports home or a dedicated runner to tire her and keep her challenged.  Amber has shown some aptitude that would make her a good agility dog, or possibly as a flyball / disc dog.  She has a strong prey drive, and although she has not been evlauated on sheep, she might be a very good prospect for the amateur herder.

Amber does not respect a 5 1/2 feet fence, so at least a 6 foot fence is required.  Amber did not show herself to be an escape artist in her foster home, however, an overnight visit at another home proved that this girl can jump.  She did not appear to want to get away, but she jumped the fence to get to the next door neighbor's yard to play with their dog.

Since Amber has a strong prey drive, a home without cats or small dogs (or other pets) is a must.  She loves to play with other dogs, and it appears she would be most unhappy if she is placed as an only dog, unless you are planning to be with her 24/7 and let her have doggy play dates...  Amber is an alpha female, and can sometimes be choosy which females she likes, however, there are no issues with male dogs.
Perdy
Amber requires an adopter who is BC savvy, and has had previous BC experience with an alpha female.  Since she knows she is pretty, she can be quite coy and manipulative with her looks.  If you are not consistent with your discipline, she will be alpha and take over your household.  She doesn't want to, but she will, if you let her.

Due to Amber's prey drive, I have not been able to bring her into my house because I have cats.  I am not sure if she is totally housebroken, however, she is completerly crate trained.  She has not had any potty issues in her crate--crate training is about 75% there to housebreaking, so I do not anticipate any problems.  She would need to be umbilicalled to you until you could trust her to be alone in the house.

With all of that said, Amber has many wonderful traits.  If you fully understand BC temperament and behavior, then Amber is a pretty easy going dog.  She is extremely affectionate, and she wants nothing more than to be your best friend forever.  She knows her basic obedience (both in English and Spanish), has decent recall, and walks very nicely on a leash.  She also rides beautifully in the car, but she needs to be tied, otherwise she will try and jump in your lap.  She loves riding in the front as your co-pilot.  Amber is a very a happy go lucky dog and when you look at her, you can tell she really is a bon vivant.
