Jake is a black and white 4 month old Border Collie/Queensland Heeler blend who will steal your heart at first sight! He is the sweetest, most adorable puppy and is so full of love it's almost bursting out of him! Jake was turned over to rescue by a friend of his owner. They are an older couple who could not give Jake the training, care and physical and mental stimulation that a pup his age needs. They had gotten him as a gift from their son who didn't realize how much care and attention Jake would require.
Jake is housebroken, crate trained, comes immediately when called and does an auto-sit, which means he sits without being told to. He is great on a leash and gets along with other dogs and people. I believe Jake would be wonderful with children, young and old, when properly supervised. He loves to roll over on his back and get belly rubs and he really enjoys lots of love and attention. Jake loves balls, tennis, squeaky, etc. and will retrieve a tennis ball and bring it right back to you and wait for you to toss it again. He would be a great dog park dog as he loves to run and play with all his foster buddies. He currently plays with 4 other youngsters, under a year, and a 3 year old male Aussie and a 7 year old female BC. The dust really flies in his Foster Parents' yard when they all get running around as fast as they can playing tag or keep-away! Jake has had 2 in the series of his 3 puppy shots and will need his Rabies vaccination soon. By the time this is posted, however, his Foster Mom will have taken care of that. He is microchipped and will need to be sterilized at 6 months of age. His dob is April 1, 2013.
As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family.
