Meet Olivia. Olivia is a female Border Collie Mix, about 5 years old. She is a bigger girl, weighing about 50-55 lbs. Olivia was rescued from the shelter where she came in as a supposed stray with her pups. Her pups were all adopted by the public. Olivia wears her previous rough life on her face. Her foster home reports that she is very skinny, and it will take some time to get her to her ideal weight. Most likely, this was not her first litter of pups. The shelter said she was a good mommy who nurtured and was protective of her pups. This is apparent, as she has "adopted" Dolly, the female pup who just entered our rescue program.
BCIN's mantra is the journey to greatness begins when a dog is rescued. and Olivia is no exception. It will only be a matter of time before Olivia will blossom into an awesome canine companion. Olivia has a good temperament and gets along with other dogs. She is accepting of her foster parents, and her trust and confidence is gaining each day. Olivia enjoys being in her crate. has good house manners and is now housebroken. She walks Ok on a leash, knows basic obedience of sit and "leave it'". Olivia likes to hang out in the house on the couch.
Please consider opening your heart and home to Olivia. It is a fact that once a dog reaches 5 years of age, the chance of making it out of the shelter is greatly reduced.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. Our dogs have been sterilized, microchipped, and are up to date on their vaccinations. The electronic application can be found on our website at www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html.
