OLLIE | |
 |
Ollie is a cute as a button 10-11 months old male. He is not Border Collie, and is probably some sort of Spaniel and Pomeranian Mix. BCIN was alerted that there was an owner surrender at the shelter. In his shelter photo, he looked just like a purebred Border Collie. One can only imagine our surprise when we saw him and saw this little dog that weighed about 20 lbs. The bizarre part of it, he looks just like miniature version of a Border Collie. He was so darn cute, that we decided to bail him despite his obviously non-Border Collie heritage.
Ollie deserves a home, nonetheless. Ollie was an owner surrender to the shelter. Another dog that became homeless through no fault of his own. He was living in an apartment without the landlord’s permission and his people just dumped him at the shelter.
The best way to describe Ollie is that he is a large dog trapped in a small dog’s body. There is nothing small about him except his size. He gives his BC foster siblings a run for their money and he is fearless. Ollie knows basic obedience skills, is housetrained, and walks well on leash. Ollie is also a good watch dog. Ollie is a cat chaser, so a home without kitties is required. He appears to get along well with small children. He can be a bit timid upon meeting you, but will warm up. He loves nothing better than to snuggle with you and he loves to burrow next to you when you watch TV.
Ollie has been showered with TLC to socialize him. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
