Welcome!
OLLIE
Ollie
Meet Ollie. Ollie is a handsome 5 year old male black and white traditionally marked rough coated Border Collie. Ollie weighs in at about 50 lbs. Ollie is an owner surrender to BCIN and he was very well loved and taken care of in his former home. Folks, very rarely does such a well-rounded and well-mannered BC of this caliber comes into rescue. His owner did not want to give up Ollie, as his living situation had changed drastically and he put Ollie’s welfare first.

Ollie is housebroken. He knows his basic commands of sit, stay, down, and paw (shake). Ollie has an above energy level, but he's not hyper. He thrives when on physical activity, such as going to the dog park, out for a run/walk, or playing tug and fetch with his favorite plush toy.

He's best kept on a leash when out walking/running (running gets him really excited and he doesn't know when to stop). Ollie is good with children and is surprisingly gentle when accepting treats. He's not a food driven dog, so he's not likely to go for dropped/abandoned food. Ollie has been around children and he is fine with them. He is also a bit picky about the kind of treats he'll eat and enjoys a bit of wet food mixed in with dry food. Ollie is good with most dogs, however, he's a bit leery of big dogs at first until they get to know each other, but he wants to meet every little dog. He even gets along with cats. I wouldn't say that he likes them, but they're definitely a curiosity to him. As with all Border Collies, loud noises can be a concern. His new home needs to be wary of thunder, and for some reason, Ollie is weary around storms drains.

Ollie is a wonderful dog with a lovely temperament. He will make a wonderful and loyal canine companion. Ollie will not be in rescue long, so get your applications in.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application.  We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.  The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
