ROCKY
Rocky
We got Rocky from the Downey Shelter several months ago.  We were told he was a Catahoula Leopard Mix.  Others have told us he is definitely an Australian Cattle Dog mix.  We took one look at him and were sold.  He is super smart and a very curious fella.  The shelter and the vet have both told us that they think he is about 1-1/2 years old, or so.  He wasn't fixed when we got him so we took care of that ASAP.  He is healthy and came to us potty trained and we haven't had an accident in the house (we don't have a doggy door).  He weighs about 30 pounds and has a short coat that is super silky after he gets a bath.  He's not much of a barker unless you are a squirrel and he has been known to howl when an ambulance passes by (adorable!).  He walks and jogs well on a leash.  We don't have any other pets, but I would gather he is not much of a cat guy, but who knows?  He does really like other dogs.  We've had play dates with a friend's French Bulldog and they get along great.

So why are we getting rid of this awesome and adorable dog?  Well, we have a small child and Rocky has some habits that don't go well with our situation.  He is very excited by small, squealing children and wants to join in the chase.  He has nipped at our kid and as a result we know that this is not the best home for him.  We have worked with a trainer in hopes of addressing this problem.  Sadly, though we have come to the realization that we just can't be sure it won't happen again.  On the brighter side, through his training, we found out that he is a very smart and highly trainable pup.  We feel he would thrive in a home without small children (teenagers would probably be fine).  He would likely get along well with other dog(s) in the home especially if they like a good game of chase.  He is a great dog and deserves a great home.  We are asking for a small re-homing fee.  If you are interested in Rocky or have any other questions about him, please contact Lisa at jonandlisaalexander@yahoo.com or (323) 443-4902.
