TORY

Tory is a 2 year-old female black and white smooth coated Border Collie / Hound mix. She appears to have the Hound floppy ears and shorter nose, but her body conformation looks more BC. Tory was very shut down at the shelter and was about as shy as a dog could be. She would start trembling and tuck her tail way between her legs when you talked to her. Because of this way she behaved in the shelter, she was at high risk of being euthanized as she was deemed not a good adoption prospect for the public. Slowly, but surely, she started coming out of her shell once she knew she was safe. All it took was some time and some good old fashioned TLC to draw her out.
Tory now wags her tail when greeting me, and she will jump up right next to me on a bench for some loving and a tummy rub. Now, she just can’t seem to get enough attention. It’s so wonderful as a foster parent to see the dogs in our program gain confidence and flourish under constant care. Tory is now running and romping around. She is not quite ready yet for her forever home, as I am still in the process of evaluating Tory, and will be providing updates on her progress. This week I will introduce her to other dogs and start working more in depth with her evaluation. Stay tuned for updates on Tory as I get to know her better. She definitely is a diamond in the rough. |
